When I try to add a new US$ security to an investment account set up as C$, The US security has "Canadian dollar" automatically inserted in the currency window and it is greyed out so cannot be changed.īackground: for years I have been running two investment accounts for one RRSP: one for the C$ securities and another for the US$ securities, and manually downloading transactions. Can't the US security be added in US$ and B8 will automatically report the total in C$ using its exchange rate mechanism? My testing suggests no. I've been spending a lot of time in recent days trying to figure out whether a B8 investment account can contain securities with different currencies (C$ equities and US$ equities)? I can't find a clear answer. At a minimum, one should get a prompt if a newer file is going to be sync'd with an older file. It seems to me that a HUGE improvement would be a prompt that asks if one wants to cloud sync when a file is launched! Especially since the mobile edition launches the last file loaded and there seems to be no way to stop it from cloud syncing? I'm I the only one who thinks the auto cloud sync is FUBAR? One has to know corruption can happen to prevent it and that's seriously bad for financial data. Now hundreds (maybe thousands?) of repaired transactions have been deleted from my repaired mac file due to cloud sync from mobile Banktivity (v7 or v8, can't recall now) Unfortunately an old file was opened by default. Naively opened mobile banktivity (can't recall if I opened v7 or v8) after not using it for a LONG time, just to see if it still worked. Spent weeks manually updating accounts with missing transactions after getting it to (mostly) work. Count me among the apparently many users trying to navigate the Yodlee download switch challenges. Is this the way to stop cloud sync in Banktivity 8? The iPhones most capable money management app Banktivity for iPhone. Our new Apple Watch app also lets you track investments and check account balances. Best I can find is Preferences > Import > "uncheck" Automatically update financial information. Banktivity (formerly iBank) is designed specifically for Mac and has long been one of the most popular desktop personal finance apps for macOS. Banktivity support article says: "Go to View> Show Sync Settings, click “Troubleshoot Cloud Sync” followed by clicking on the text that says “Click here to stop syncing this document” However, no such thing exists under View. ![]()
